Ollie for Meals
Ollie's farewell letter says Ollie, the company behind Ollie for Meals, is shutting down on Nov 6, 2026, and that "Ollie will text you an export of your data." On refunds, the letter says: "If you have a subscription to Ollie or Ollie for Meals, billing will be canceled and you will receive a refund for any partial or unused months." (As of Oct 31, 2026. What Cross the Peas does
- A week of meals built around your whole table and your grocery budget.
- Set each person's diet, dislikes and requests like "no onions" once. The plan picks meals most of the table can eat, and anyone who won't eat tonight's dish gets a plate from the same cooking, not a second recipe.
- Choose who eats which meals at home, including school-day lunches, so you only shop for what you'll make. Add a prep day if you like.
- Every ingredient goes on one list, one line per food, priced in whole packages at typical store prices. Share it or copy it as text.
- Your grocery budget estimate starts from USDA food-plan costs for each child, teen and adult at home. Over budget? Stretch mode tries cheaper versions of the week and suggests swaps that keep your family's food rules.
- Food you already have stays off the list. Opened packages and the rest of a bag or box go into future plans first, and quick-spoiling produce lands early in the week.
- A calorie and macro report you can save as a PDF to keep or share.
Budget and nutrition figures are estimates based on USDA data and your own entries.
How to keep your recipes
Cross the Peas can't import recipes or files from other apps. The best step is to keep your own copy of what matters to you.
- Ollie for Meals: Ollie says it will text you an export of your data. Save that text or file somewhere you control before Nov 6, 2026.
- Fond: Open Fond's final version (3.2.0), tap Export my data, and keep the JSON and Markdown files. Fond says the button works until Jan 31, 2027.
- Mealime: Mealime said all personal data would be deleted when the app shut down. If you saved recipe links, screenshots or notes, keep them together in one place. Mealime says its recipes continue in Meals Hub.
- From any app: Write down your family's favorite meals and save the recipe links you use most. Note each person's diet, dislikes and allergies too, so setting up a new planner goes quickly.
Questions
Is Cross the Peas part of Ollie for Meals, Mealime or Fond?

When does Cross the Peas launch?
Soon. We'll email the waitlist on launch day.
Will it be on iPhone and Android?
It works in the web browser on your phone, tablet or computer. iPhone and Android apps are planned, and we'll email the waitlist when they're out.
Does it plan breakfast and lunch too, or just dinner?
All three. You choose which meals each person eats at home.
How is the grocery budget estimated?
From USDA food-plan costs for each person at home and typical store prices. It's an estimate, not your store's prices.
What about allergies?
Allergies are handled per person: the app swaps the ingredient or skips the recipe, and warns you if you add one yourself. Not medical advice. Always read the label.
